The Yankees were a good team before they ever made a trade in the lead-in to the July 31 deadline. They were competitive in the AL East, in possession of a wild card at their worst, and even their stretch of poor play had them outscoring opponents and losing mostly due to the bullpen rather than any teamwide-issues.

There’s no doubt that he loved all three sports, but Judge’s love of baseball from an early age made it clear he was going to choose the sport as a career. Some smaller schools would let him play both football and baseball, but he eventually signed with Fresno State.
The decision paid off. The Yankees drafted Judge in the the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft. During three seasons in New York’s minor league system, he hit 60 home runs, and was called up to the Youth NFL Cheap Jerseys majors last August.
